2. The normal monthly expenditure is approximately

£50,000 of which about £20,000 represents expenditure

on stores. We have, however, recently received

instructions from the Colony to suspend where possible

all action in connection with indents already sent

home and we have been able to comply with these

instructions by holding up indents to the value of

ader Secretary of State, Colonial office.
